about ambiguu

What is your artist name?

My Artist Name is 'Ambiguu', which pretty much means 'Ambiguous' in my country, which is Romania.

Are you currently working on a project, like an EP or track?
At the moment I'm focusing on my bachelor degree which is going to be finished (hopefully) by february 2019. Although 2019 will be one of my best years as I'm totally focusing on releasing many tracks ranging from lo-fi to heavy bangers, trying to make up for all these years I've been procrastinating!

What &/ who inspired you to create music?
I come from a Drum & Bass background as I used to DJ and listen to lots of Drum & Bass and actually used to be a dancer. Afterwards one of my friends introduced me to dubstep and since then I was addicted to it. One of my ex-girlfriends encouraged me to give it a shot and start producing, and so I did starting 2012! Throughout time I switched two aliases and made a large variety of genres, as I said before.
One of my big inspirations would definitely be Getter. I've been following his progress since 2012 and I'm trully amazed on how he managed to go through so many genres, labels and continously grow.

How is your creative process like?
Lately most of my inspiration comes from picking up the guitar and jamming random notes/chords around. It's actually funny that once I get some notes down in Ableton I start hearing drum loops, sounds, synths and other notes in my head and start writing them down. Sometimes I listen to Spotify across the room and hear some sounds that aren't even there, then I just quickly jump on Ableton and try to recreate them!

What's an average day like for you?
I'm not gonna lie, my average day lately is pretty boring, morning waking up between 6AM to 1 PM (it varies a ton), do the mourning routine which is basically just freshening up, eating then just writing on my bachelor degree, gaming, spending time with my girlfriend and dog then going back to sleep.
But I'm trying to work on that - basically my goal is to wake up at 6-7 AM, do the morning routine and work on music by either practicing guitar, watching masterclasses, working on music, networking or building up the promo list. Hopefully I'll get this down by 2019! I actually do have a plan already set, it's just college really doesn't allow me to put this into action yet.

What advice would you give someone following in your footsteps?
I definintely have lots of tips, if I may:
- Don't waste time - go to bed early and wake up early if you really want to succeed.
- Stop gaming or any activity that is not benefic. Games come and go. When I was a kid I used to spend lots of time on games which I now regret as they either closed or no one played them anymore.
- Develop a plan and execute it - you need a plan, which is basically a roadmap to your goals
- Don't be afraid - if you have any piece of art, don't be afraid to expose it to the public. Just release it as you can either delete it when you have a big portofolio or it'll be lost between your other dozens of great content.

Last one would be that THERE IS NO WRITER'S BLOCK - stop lying and using this excuse to procrastinate. If you don't force yourself to work you'll keep delaying and using the same excuse. There's a study that all you need to do is work 5-10 minutes on a thing in order to get started then you'll find yourself doing it for hours.

Oh and a last big tip - follow me everywhere @ambiguu, haha.
